Jay Lucas
Jay Lucas is the chairman and managing partner of The Lucas Group. He has deep experience in consumer products, manufacturing, distribution, pharmaceuticals, business services, and information technology industries. Jay works with clients to improve their corporate strategy, find major new sources of revenue, improve profits, and he has advised more than 100 acquisitions, joint ventures, and related transactions.
Prior to founding The Lucas Group, Jay was a partner at Bain, where he led assignments for Fortune 500 companies in the consumer products, food and beverage, and information technology industries. Jay also was a co-founder of Bain's consulting practice to leveraged buyout funds and their portfolio companies.
After graduating from Yale University, Jay received his M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School and his J.D. from the Harvard Law School.
Michael Cleary
Michael Cleary is a partner at The Lucas Group. He has more than 25 years of experience in consulting, with an emphasis on business turnaround strategies and efficiency improvements.Over the past decade, he has focused on financial services and private equity investment.
Before joining The Lucas Group, Michael was a partner at Bain and at Oliver Wyman. At Bain, Michael performed turnaround work in the photographic, information services, retail, steel, and tire manufacturing businesses, and developed growth strategies for clients in other industries. At Oliver Wyman, he did strategy and operations improvement for financial institutions.
After graduating from The London School of Economics, Michael earned an M.B.A. from The University of Chicago.
Philip Constable
Philip Constable is a partner at The Lucas Group, where he has focused on working with middle market private equity clients on both due diligence as well as portfolio improvement assignments.
Prior to joining The Lucas Group, Philip was chief operating officer of Longlite, a start-up semiconductor lighting company. Earlier, he was COO of Wolverine, a manufacturer of industrial ovens and dryers, where he engineered a turnaround resulting in tenfold growth and industry-leading profitability.
Philip started his career at Bain, where he developed and implemented data-driven and high value-added strategies for clients in a range of industries. He was also a principal at Bain Holdings, a leveraged buyout fund for the partners.
After graduating from Hamilton College, Philip earned an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a Master’s degree in accounting from New York University.
Alan Factor
Alan Factor is a partner at The Lucas Group, with extensive experience developing strategy in the technology, information services, distribution, and automotive industries, primarily in the areas of e-commerce, new business development, and acquisitions.
Prior to joining The Lucas Group, Alan held positions at Bain, Dun & Bradstreet, Ernst & Young, and Agency.com. As a senior manager at Bain, Alan consulted government and state lotteries on operational efficiency. At Dun & Bradstreet, he was Vice President of Marketing for sales technologies. In Ernst & Young's strategy consulting, Alan helped build the e-business practice from zero to 75 consultants in 18 months. He was chief strategy officer at Agency.com, where he helped clients develop interactive strategies.
Alan graduated from the Wharton School at the of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
Mark Kadar
Mark Kadar is a partner at The Lucas Group. He has over 25 years experience in strategy development, execution, and management with a focus on transportation, logistics, and retail companies. Mark has worked extensively in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Before joining The Lucas Group, Mark led the global maritime, logistics, and postal practice at Oliver Wyman (formerly Mercer Management Consulting). Previously, Mark worked for the Roland Berger Group and for Bain, where he specialized in information services and retail. Mark also was senior vice president, Atlantic, of Hapag-Lloyd (America), where he was responsible for the results of the north and south Atlantic export trades of the global liner shipping company and managed sales and operations for liner and intermodal services in most North American areas.
Mark grew up in Austria and is fluent in English and German. After graduating from Yale University, Mark earned master’s degrees from Yale and a J.D. from the Harvard Law School.

Lloyd MacLean
Lloyd MacLean is vice-chairman and a partner of The Lucas Group and heads the Government Solutions practice. Lloyd has extensive experience in corporate strategy, sourcing capital for growth, completing acquisitions, and reducing purchasing costs.
Before joining The Lucas Group, Lloyd was managing director of Globe Capital Corp., a leading provider of strategic and financial advisory services to mid-market companies. Earlier, Lloyd served in senior executive roles including chief financial officer at ING Direct Bank of Canada, North American Trust, Firemen's Fund Insurance, Greenpark Homes, and Officeland. He also was a senior auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Lloyd’s industry and domain expertise ranges from manufacturing to retail, with particularly deep knowledge in information services, transaction processing, IT solutions, and financial services, leasing, and real estate.
After graduating from Acadia University, Lloyd earned his professional accounting certification with PricewaterhouseCoopers and his M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.

Christopher Sekula
Christopher Sekula is a partner at The Lucas Group. He specializes in designing and implementing programs to enhance operating performance and profitability, and in conducting acquisition due diligence reviews. Chris also serves as a principal at The Cambria Group, a private equity firm focused on small- to medium-sized businesses, where he concentrates on evaluation, due diligence, recruiting, and portfolio company oversight.
Prior to joining The Lucas Group, Chris was a senior consultant at Bain, where he focused on manufacturing clients. Previously, he was a vice president of Enterprise Investors, a private equity firm investing in Central Europe, and a project director for an engineering firm.
After graduating from Politechnika Warszawska with a Master’s degree in environmental engineering, Chris earned his M.B.A. from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business.

Matt Whitney
Matt Whitney is a partner at The Lucas Group with considerable experience in private equity due diligence, growth strategy, and merger and acquisition analysis. Matt has experience across a variety of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, business services, consumer products, education, food and beverage, healthcare, and IT.
Prior to joining The Lucas Group, Matt served as a case team leader for The Parthenon Group on private equity due diligence advisory assignments as well as corporate strategy cases involving acquisition analysis, portfolio rationalization, and sales force optimization. Previously, Matt was director of strategy and planning for MooBella, a venture-capital financed maker of innovative ice cream machines (named one of the most intriguing innovations of 2006 by Time magazine). Matt also worked at Bariston Partners, a Boston-based merchant bank, where he helped raise debt and equity financing to complete mid-market management buyout transactions in the specialty publishing industry.
After graduating from Tufts University, Matt earned an M.B.A. from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
