However, our approach helps them ‘drill down' and analyze profitability on a highly granular basis. Moreover, we help them relate these insights to practical profit improvement levers - identifying pricing opportunities based on market and competitive analysis and specific product-line, customer and cost strategies to drive substantial increases in profitability. In this arena, the firm has developed a methodology that can be implemented in weeks - not months - as well as proprietary software solutions that can easily and affordably turn a ‘snapshot' understanding of profits into an ongoing ability to replenish profitability data automatically each period - driven by the company's existing systems - and tied to their general ledger. Since 1994, The Lucas Group has been a leader in strategic sourcing. Our teams have systematically helped clients achieve significant savings in their purchases of goods and services - and in total, have saved clients approximately $500 million - working in more than 200 specific categories of spend. Moreover, on average - we have helped clients save between 15 to 20 percent of the total spend addressed by our teams. Our approach is data intensive and highly analytic - identifying categories of spend where there is significant potential for improvement, then working with our clients to achieve savings through vendor consolidation, negotiation, consumption management, substitution, technology solutions and creative vendor partnerships.
